The drama continues for the Washington Commanders.
First, there’s the Terry McLaurin situation wherein both parties haven’t agreed to a contract extension even if 2022 will be the wideout’s final year under his rookie contract.
Then there’s the $100,000 fine on head coach Ron Rivera and the deletion of two OTAs after excessive contact during drills.
But those concerns are minor compared to the ongoing stalemate between team owner Dan Snyder and the United States Congress.
Snyder declined to testify regarding the alleged sexual harassment and workplace misconduct within the organization.
Once again, Snyder was firm with his decision to not testify before Congress.
His attorney, Karen Patton Seymour, stated that he can’t testify because of a business-related conflict.
Continuously ducking Congress does not portray a good picture for Snyder and the Commanders in general.

NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero shared a statement from the spokesperson of the House Oversight Committee.
The statement reads, “If Mr. Snyder was truly committed to cooperating with the Committee’s investigation, he would have accepted the Committee’s invitation to testify about the Commanders’ toxic workplace culture.”
It also stated, “His refusal to testify sends an unmistakable signal that Mr. Snyder has something to hide and is afraid of coming clean to the American public and addressing major worker protection concerns facing the NFL.”
If He Isn’t Guilty, Why Refrain From Testifying?
Snyder might not admit it, but the House Oversight Committee has him cornered.
He cannot exercise his wealth because it’s the government demanding him to share what he knows.
If he has nothing to be ashamed of, he would take the invitation to clear the organization.
The more he shies away from the investigation, the more that he looks guilty.
