The Washington Commanders may be making yet another quarterback change.
Although previous reporting today had suggested that they would be rolling out Taylor Heinicke instead of Carson Wentz this week, that may no longer be the case.

Earlier this morning, despite the reports of Heinicke being the starter, Sam Howell was spotted taking first-team practice reps today.
Howell has yet to appear in a game for the Commanders this season.
If he is truly the starter on Sunday, the Commanders are effectively making a statement to the league that they are mailing this game in, and are just interested in improving their draft stock in 2023.
Who is Howell, anyways?
Howell was a three-year starter at the University of North Carolina, where he amassed 10,283 passing yards, 1,009 rushing yards, 109 total touchdowns, and only 23 interceptions.
He was a fantastic collegiate player, and many expected him to be an early pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
For some reason, he fell to the fifth round of the draft, which is where the Commanders ended up picking him.
The Commanders have a talented core of young offensive players, including Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Brian Robinson.
All three of those players will be at Howell’s disposal on Sunday and give him ample opportunities to succeed.
How will Howell fare in this game, if he does end up being the starter over Heinicke?
The Commanders will certainly find out what they have in him this week, albeit in a meaningless game for the current season.
