Chase Young has not suited up for the Washington Commanders since November 14, 2021, in their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In that game, Young was initially diagnosed with an ACL tear.
Commanders beat writer Ben Standig shared some unfortunate news for those expecting a return.
The Commanders, as expected, will not activate DE Chase Young off the physically-unable-to-perform list ahead of tonight's game, according to a person close to the situation.
Today is the one year anniversary of Young’s ACL tear.

On the first anniversary of his ACL tear, Young is still not going to be active for tonight’s game against the Eagles.
With Young now being out for over a year, the Commanders defense has severely struggled.
They cannot seem to find their footing, and are at a 4-5 record, putting them at last in their division.
The Young Impact
Before the 2022 NFL campaign, there were many doubts surrounding the Commanders, particularly their defensive line.
However, the Commanders defensive unit has put up some impressive numbers, which is impressive given Young’s absence.
The Commanders have allowed the 10th-fewest rushing yards, and are giving up the second-fewest rushing touchdowns.
Both of these metrics are good signs for the defensive line.
The Commanders could certainly use Young back on their defensive line, despite what the statistics might tell you.
The Commanders have garnered more interceptions, forced more fumbles, and caught more interceptions through 10 weeks than they did last year with Young on the team.
With Young on the roster, there is hope that they can continue to build on the success that they have had so far this season.
One year without the nation watching a phenomenal talent like Young is long enough.
We’re all hoping to see Young on the field sooner than later.
