Jonathan Taylor requested a trade from the Indianapolis Colts, a surprising move for many fans.
This was seemingly the result of a conversation he had with Jim Irsay.
Irsay has frequently been in the news, openly discussing Taylor’s situation and standing with the team.
Chris Ballard, the team’s GM, has been mostly quiet about Taylor.
However, that changed in a recent Sirius XM interview.
“I think the world of Jonathan, he’s been a great player for the Colts,” Ballard said.

Ballard added, “We need to get him 100% healthy before we do anything.”
His comments indicate that Taylor isn’t fully recovered from his injuries, as there is seemingly more recovery for him to do.
The latest reports from the Colts’ camp is that Taylor has resurfaced at training camp, but didn’t take the field.
He’s maintained his trade request, which hasn’t wavered.
There is less than a month until the regular season starts.
Taylor and the Colts need to come to a resolution soon, otherwise, he’s at risk of missing significant playing time.
When healthy, Taylor has performed as one of the league’s most dominant backs.
However, this injury has taken him off the field, and out of the competitive mindset that NFL players need to perform at the highest level.
The Colts offense is slated to look significantly different in 2023, especially with Anthony Richardson as the team’s starting quarterback.
Having a mobile quarterback will be a drastic change for this team, and it will take some getting used to.
Will Taylor be a part of this new regime?
