Great leaders, whether in the NFL or not, can accept when they have had shortcomings, and hold themselves accountable for mistakes they may have committed.
After a Monday Night Football loss, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Colt McCoy did just that.

McCoy was tasked with stepping into the game after Kyler Murray was unfortunately removed due to injury.
In relief of Murray, McCoy was 27 for 40 on his passing attempts, throwing for 246 yards and one interception.
Although he didn’t necessarily have his most statistically dominant performance of his career, completing 67.5 percent of passes in a game that he didn’t anticipate starting in is nothing to balk at.
McCoy’s Career History
McCoy is a 13-year NFL veteran who has spent most of his career as a backup quarterback.
He was drafted in the third round of the 2010 draft by the Cleveland Browns.
He has since played for the Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Washington, and the New York Giants before securing a spot on the Cardinals.
McCoy has started in 35 NFL games, and has thrown for a combined 7,897 yards, completed 62.6 percent of his passes, and thrown for 34 touchdowns and 31 interceptions.
The Cardinals will likely finish their 2022 campaign with McCoy as their starting quarterback since Murray is out for the remainder of the season.
Their remaining schedule includes the Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, and San Francisco 49ers.
Will the Cardinals move on from McCoy as their backup in 2023?
Or will he stick around as Murray recovers from what could be a long-term injury?
