The yearly story of Colin Kaepernick coming back to the NFL is now done for good.
After being away from the league since 2017, every season since has seen some story about the controversial QB making a return.
While Kaepernick has said teams blackballed him, the chances he’s been given could arguably prove otherwise.
However, a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders would be the final nail in his coffin of an NFL return.
So what went on in Sin City that has put an end to his return?
Warren Sapp Reveals Kaepernick’s Workout With Raiders Was A Disaster
When news first come out about Kaepernick and the Raiders, you would have thought he did well.
However, Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp reveals the workout was actually a disaster.
‘I heard one of the worst workouts ever.’
‘A DISASTER’: Ex-NFL star gives inside scoop on Kaepernick's recent workout with team
Former San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick worked out for the Las Vegas Raiders last month and seemingly everything went well, but Warren Sapp told a… pic.twitter.com/GZj65JwqYA— Kimberly Spencer (@Kimberl27637547) July 19, 2022
He says he heard it was a disaster, leaving some people to question the truth of what went on in Las Vegas.
But some former NFL players agree with Sapp, as they point out how he’s a former Raider and has connections with the team.
Warren Sapp Wasn't Lying About Kaepernick's Workout with the Raiders – YouTube … and LaVar Arrington tell you why they believe Warren Sapp when he says Colin Kaepernick's workout with the Las Vegas Raiders was a 'disaster. https://t.co/5X9AfUBuIm pic.twitter.com/mzV7AFiLar

With the story of his workout being so bad, and no other teams calling him since that workout, there could be truth to that story.
However, Kaepernick’s agent has since refuted the comments made by Sapp.
So with the story being two people telling different stories, which one is true?
The actions of Kaepernick in the past regarding workouts for teams shows a history of questions.
A 2019 Workout Session Switch-Up
The NFL would offer Kaepernick a workout session for NFL teams to attend and watch him.
However, he would make a last-minute switch with the time and location of the workout.
But he made that move because of the NFL wanting him to sign a liability wavier and denying media coverage of the event.
While people can argue about the media coverage, the NFL would relent on their stance with media coverage for the event.
I don't understand why #ColinKaepernick fell need to be subjected #NFL antics here – NFL would not allowed #media & #camera in workout until they relented

However, him not being willing to sign a liability wavier, which would cover the NFL if things went bad, shows an unwillingness to work with the league.
With this already out in the public, it’s hard for a team to trust him.
While it’s logical to see why Kaepernick wants media coverage, it’s unnecessary if he wants a QB job.
But with the wavier, it shows he still has an axe to grind with the league.
However, his antics throughout his career have ended any chance of him coming back.
Kaepernick Is His Own Worst Enemy In NFL Return
No matter what your talent level is, teams won’t take you if you bring issues with you to the team.
This is what the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback brings with him.
That baggage, along with the inability to wow teams, is why he’s not coming back as a player.
He was clearly regressing before he initially left the league.
The fact he is not back in 2022 seems to indicate he is officially out of chances.

Can we All please remember that Colin Kaepernick opted out of his final 49er season ?

There are rules that need to be followed. It is ashame Colin took it upon himself not to obey those rules guidelines. Just a waste of talent. I am a fan of his as well.

Garappolo is better than Kapernick and yet Kapernick still thinks he can play in the NFL?

This man has been working/doing absolutely nothing for over 5 years, and still has millions in his account that he got as a gift from the NFL in 2019 “for whatever”.
The world is crazy, but there’s absolutely no need for smug rip-offs.
