It’s been five seasons since quarterback Colin Kaepernick last suited up in the NFL.
That year, he only won one out of 11 starts for the San Francisco 49ers, finishing with 2,241 yards and 16 touchdowns.
It’s a steep fall from grace for a player who once led the team to a Super Bowl appearance.
However, the reason behind his abrupt exodus from the league went beyond his on-field performance.
Now 34 years old, Kaepernick still has some years left to help a team win.
That said, he’s being linked to one franchise, as Pro Football Focus’ Ari Meirov reported.
Colin Kaepernick worked out today with #Seahawks WR Aaron Fuller and UW RB Kamari Pleasant. This comes after he recently trained with Tyler Lockett.
Kaepernick says he has talked to the Seahawks and is hopeful the door opens.

Meirov tweeted, “Colin Kaepernick worked out today with #Seahawks WR Aaron Fuller and UW RB Kamari Pleasant. This comes after he recently trained with Tyler Lockett. Kaepernick says he has talked to the Seahawks and is hopeful the door opens.”
All he wants is another opportunity and this could be the right time to get what might be his last shot at NFL glory.
The Seahawks have nothing to lose by giving him a tryout.
Seattle Badly Needs Help At Quarterback
The Seahawks should welcome any help they can get at quarterback, especially after trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
As of the moment, Geno Smith and Drew Lock are their top play-callers, which is not threatening at all.
Therefore, they could give Kaepernick an opportunity to fight for the starting role.
Still, there’s no guarantee that he will get the job because five years of inactivity will be hard to shake off.
However, the Seahawks won’t find out until they invite him to training camp.
Seattle is now lagging against their division rivals Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, and Los Angeles Rams in terms of playoff probability.
Kaepernick may help them bridge the gap if he turns out to be ready after all these years.
