The expectation differs from reality for the Denver Broncos four weeks into the 2022 NFL season.
They were regarded as one of the top offensive teams in the league during the offseason, especially after the arrival of quarterback Russell Wilson.
He was regarded as the final piece of an offense that could dominate the opposition.
There’s no fault in saying that, given they had a potent backfield tandem of Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon III.
The Broncos also had a reliable receiving corps with Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Tim Patrick, who eventually suffered a season-ending ACL injury.
Unfortunately, they have failed to live up to the preseason hype after splitting their first four games.
They did not look good during their wins either after scoring a combined 27 points in those two games.
Something’s wrong with the Broncos, and sports media personality Colin Cowherd has a take on their situation.
I am convinced @Broncos are now the worst coached team in the league. Josh McDaniel might as well be Lombardi today. A mess.

Cowherd tweeted, “I am convinced @Broncos are now the worst coached team in the league. Josh McDaniel might as well be Lombardi today. A mess.”
Nathaniel Hackett was regarded as an offensive genius because of what he did as Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator.
Unfortunately, he is yet to translate that success to Denver.
Clock Mismanagement A Major Issue
That concern was evident from their season-opener, a Monday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks.
They had an opportunity to advance the ball further and give Brandon McManus a more manageable field goal distance.
However, the Broncos failed to call a timeout and allowed the game clock to run down.
Therefore, McManus had to convert a field goal of over 60 years to give Denver the victory.
That incident is just one of the several questionable decisions Hackett has committed in four games.
