The Baltimore Ravens have dared Lamar Jackson to find a new home.
They placed him under the non-exclusive franchise tag, meaning he could negotiate with other teams and they could still match any offer.
More than that, it means that they would get three first-round compensatory picks from the team that dared sign him.
Notably, there’s been little-to-no traction in that regard thus far, which is why he reportedly requested a trade.
The Ravens, however, have virtually no incentive to do so right now, which is why NFL analyst Colin Cowherd believes Jackson is in a bit of a predicament.
Cowherd claimed that the Ravens know how to win without Jackson and that not many teams would be willing to pay him the fully guaranteed deal he’s looking for.

He’s right on point about that second part of his statement, as Jackson has missed plenty of time in the past couple of seasons, so a fully-guaranteed contract might be off the table by most teams.
As for the second part, it seems like he may have forgotten about the fact that they missed the playoffs three straight years before drafting Jackson.
Lamar Jackson is just 25 years old and is a former MVP, not to mention one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league.
He might have to compromise and give up some things along the way if he wants to leave Baltimore.
But the Ravens have mistreated him and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him just go through the motions and not put in his best effort if he’s not traded by Week 1.
