The AFC is stacked with talented teams coming into the 2023 NFL season, with plenty of squads making a case to be legitimate title contenders before Week 1.
Obviously, that will likely change once the season gets underway and we start to see which teams are true contenders and which ones are pretenders.
One of those teams that might be right on the cusp of being a true contender is the Miami Dolphins, which may showcase one of the best offenses in the NFL during the 2023 campaign, with a healthy and confident Tua Tagovailoa under center.
Colin Cowherd believes the Dolphins are currently “a dark-horse Super Bowl team” in the AFC, as he said on his show Monday afternoon.

As Cowherd pointed out, the Dolphins’ success hinges on the health of Tagovailoa, which can be said about most if not all of the legitimate title contenders in the NFL, as teams usually have the most success with elite players under center that can stay healthy.
Last season was the best indicator of the Dolphins’ potential, with head coach Mike McDaniel calling the shots, as the team got a peek at having Tagovailoa playing at an MVP level and having to play without him due to the concussions he suffered.
If Tagovailoa can stay healthy and upright, the Dolphins definitely have a chance to surprise people during the 2023 NFL season, as they could very well become the team to beat in the AFC, with an offense led by two star wide receivers in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as well as a talented young quarterback in Tagovailoa.
