The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a tough loss on Tuesday night when they fell to the Brooklyn Nets in the first play-in game of the season.
Fans of the team shouldn’t panic too much because the Cavs still have one more chance to make the playoffs: they will battle it out on Friday against the winner of the 9/10 game to secure the eighth spot in the East.
Cleveland has had a season that’s far better than their last few years but they still feel just shy of being one of the best teams in the league.
Cavs are going to be so good a year from now.

NBA analyst Colin Cowherd thinks so.
Following the game on Tuesday night, Cowherd wrote on Twitter: “Cavs are going to to be so good a year from now.”
Does Cowherd have a point?
Are the Cavaliers about to get a whole lot better?
Evan & Co.
It seems very apparent that the future of the Cavaliers rests on rookie Evan Mobley.
The young big man is a bonafide superstar in the making with an average of 15 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks a game.
However, he’s not the only bright spot on this team.
Darius Garland, Lauri Markkanen, Kevin Love, and Jarrett Allen are also part of the Cavs’ recent resurgence.
Allen in particular is of interest because he is currently injured, which is definitely hurting the team.
Cowherd has a point: if this young team can stay together – and stay healthy – they have a chance at only getting better.
There was a point in this season when they were as high as the third season but a bunch of bad injuries made them plummet down in the standings.
It’s very reasonable to think that as promising as this season was, next year could be even bigger for the Cavs.
