The Los Angeles Lakers are fighting for their lives to get into the NBA playoffs.
With a current record of 30-33, the Lakers are in 11th place in the Western Conference.
But, LeBron James is expected to miss a significant amount of time, and that is trouble for LA.
Luckily, they still have a star player in Anthony Davis, who will need to step up and carry the load.
We have not seen Davis lead the Lakers all on his own since he was traded there before the 19-20 season.
Over the next few weeks will be his chance to show he can carry a team to the playoffs.
Unfortunately, he is one of the most injury-prone players in the league.
Despite, having no serious injury, Davis sat out last night’s game.
Fox Sports personality Colin Cowherd thinks this was a big missed opportunity for Davis.
"This was a leadership moment. This is Mahomes screaming at Andy Reid on the sideline with a high ankle sprain."

Even though the Lakers won the game, Davis can not afford to sit out anymore.
The Lakers are in playoff mode, as they must win as many games as possible.
So far this season, Davis has only played in 38 games.
His lack of availability has been a problem for his entire career, and it rubs many people the wrong way.
Over the next few weeks will be Davis’ big chance to show he can be the best player on a winning team.
He tried to be that in New Orleans and failed, now he will get another chance in the absence of James.
If he fails to lead the Lakers to the playoffs, LA could be interested in moving him in the offseason.
