The Jacksonville Jaguars think that Christian Kirk has what it takes to become one of the NFL’s top wide receivers.
The former Texas A&M standout played for the Arizona Cardinals last season, finishing with 77 receptions for 982 yards and five touchdowns.
It’s those numbers that led the Jaguars to give him a four-year, $72 million deal.
However, some experts and football fans argue that he doesn’t deserve such a massive deal.
Therefore, he had something to say to his critics.
Been doubted since I first stepped in the league .. nothing new to me

Kirk said, “Been doubted since I first stepped in the league .. nothing new to me.”
With his numbers constantly improving, the Jaguars hope that he can help break the franchise’s four-year playoff drought.
Likewise, those who are quick to criticize should pump up their breaks and look at the specifics of his deal.
Details About Kirk’s Contract With Jacksonville
While the contract’s total value is at $72 million, his guaranteed money is only at $37 million.
Therefore, he has an annual average value of at least $9.25 million throughout the deal which is a good start based on his numbers.
Part of his guaranteed money are a $20 million signing bonus, his 2022 base salary of $1.5 million, and his 2023 salary of $15.5 million.
He can opt out after two years, especially if he thinks that he’s worth more than what the Jaguars will pay him at that time.
But to sweeten the pot for Kirk, Jacksonville loaded his contract with bonuses that he can get by meeting certain conditions.
He has a per-game active bonus of $29,411 or $500,000 for one season.
He also gets a $1 million roster bonus by the fifth league day in 2024.
Kirk also has workout bonuses of $500,000 per year.
If he ends up earning the entire $72 million, then both sides got their money’s worth.
