Free-agent outfielder Juan Soto is taking meetings and letting the offers roll in.
Nearly every team in MLB with deep pockets is currently flipping over couch cushions to collect every dime they have to throw at Soto to secure his services for the next decade and beyond.
After several weeks of deliberation, Soto may be nearing a decision, and Chris Russo has a sense of where he could be going.
On Wednesday morning’s episode of “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith and Chris Russo debated who would sign Soto.
“He’s not going to Toronto, he’s not playing in Canada, he’s not going to LA, and he’s not going to the (Philadelphia) Phillies, so that leaves you three teams. This is wacky and I have no inside information. I think he might sign with the (Boston) Red Sox. I got a funny feeling,” Russo shared.

Smith clapped back and told Russo not to jinx it.
He believes the only way Soto should leave the Yankees is to go to the Dodgers.
It is believed that the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Red Sox, Dodgers, and Toronto Blue Jays are the five candidates for his services, but the Red Sox have been quietly turning up the heat and look ready to spend after a few years of frustrating their fanbase by standing pat.
The organization is reportedly working to convince Soto of this promising core, with the help of legends like David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia, who are also recruiting him.
The Soto sweepstakes are almost over, and once that domino falls, the rest of the offseason can begin.
