The Phoenix Suns are the number one seed in the West with a record of 63-16.
Unless they experience an unheard-of collapse, they will most definitely make the Western Conference Finals and their chances of going all the way to the NBA Finals again are quite high.
There are many reasons why they are doing so well – their roster is stacked, after all – but there is one piece of the puzzle that can’t be ignored.
Chris Paul is really the glue holding this team together and taking it to a higher level.
And it’s not the first he propelled a team.

StatMuse pointed out that in 2008, Paul helped the Charlotte Hornets achieve franchise-record wins.
In 2014, it happened again with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Then in 2018, the Houston Rockets experienced their own record with Paul.
This year, it happened with the Suns.
Is Paul really that good?
Point God
Paul is averaging 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game.
It’s one of the best seasons among the 17 he’s had.
It’s the second year in the row that the Suns have been dominating the West and they even look better this year than last.
However, everyone knows they came up short last year and lost the Finals to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Everyone also knows that Paul has never won a Finals and desperately wants a ring before he retires.
Therefore, the records and the point totals and all the great press don’t matter at the end of the day.
The only thing that really matters for this Suns team, and Paul, is supreme victory.
Paul is playing like a man on a mission and his mission is clear.
This year, he might actually fulfill it.
