Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns is a future Hall of Famer and one of the best point guards of all time.
But on Sunday night he was something else entirely: a non-issue.

Paul was made obsolete by the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday.
In the first six minutes of the game, Paul scored four points.
Those would be the only points he would score all night, as the Pelicans shut him down and he scored absolutely nothing else for the rest of the game.
To see Paul shut down like that is astounding and should have the Suns very, very nervous heading into Game 5.
The Problem With Paul
The Suns needed a big game from Paul on Sunday.
This is always true but it was doubly true for Game 4 because the team was lacking star player Devin Booker, who is indefinitely sidelined with an injury.
Paul was tasked with filling the void left by Booker’s absence.
But he wasn’t expecting the strong defensive output from the Pelicans.
New Orleans had obviously been studying Paul and knew exactly what to do to stop him.
The defense from New Orleans was everywhere on Sunday, smothering the Suns and never letting up.
It’s rare to see a team come together in such a powerful way and it was a thing of beauty for any Pelicans fan.
The Suns will need to get it together for Game 5.
They will have to study what the Pelicans did and will need to adjust their plans to combat it.
This series isn’t over – not by a long shot.
The Suns could come back in a huge way.
But the Pelicans could continue to impress and surprise the world.
One thing is for sure: you need to be tuning in for Game 5 on Tuesday.
