Along with whether the Boston Celtics should pay or trade star Jaylen Brown, another big decision the team’s brass has to make is whether to move on from head coach Joe Mazzulla or give him another shot next season and possibly beyond.
Despite being thrust into the fire after the Ime Udoka debacle in Boston, Mazzulla was able to lead this team back to the Eastern Conference Finals and come one win away from returning to the NBA Finals.
Considering the circumstances, that’s an impressive feat by Mazzulla and something that should be praised, even though the Celtics are a very talented basketball team.
If the Celtics intend to make a change at head coach, the options are drying up, with Nick Nurse now off the board after agreeing to be the next coach of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Although some may believe parting ways with Mazzulla is the right way to go, Chris Broussard of Fox Sports thinks he deserves to stick around via First Things First.

Broussard validly points out that bringing in some veteran assistants to surround Mazzulla might be the way forward for the Celtics.
One thing that can be attributed to the Celtics’ success over the years is keeping their squad together, which few teams in the NBA have been able to do.
The Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets are two teams that have kept their squads relatively intact and are now headed to the NBA Finals.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Celtics do moving forward and if Mazzulla is in their plans.
