The Kansas City Chiefs kick off their season vs. the Detroit Lions tonight at Arrowhead Stadium.
Thousands of fans will be in attendance as they unveil their new Super Bowl banner and look to start their campaign as defending champions on a high note.
Notably, despite all the speculation and rumors about Travis Kelce’s injury, it seems like the Chiefs offense will be at full strength.
According to Kyle Brandt, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt hinted at Kelce being on the field for Thursday night’s showdown.

For those who lack context, Kelce hyperextended his knee just a couple of days ago, which obviously put his status for the season opener in jeopardy.
Nonetheless, his older brother, Jason Kelce, revealed that he hadn’t suffered any structural damage and was only dealing with some pain and swelling, and he sounded quite optimistic about his chances of being on the field despite the injury.
One would think Andy Reid and company would look to play it safe with their best pass-catcher, so there’s a chance that he’ll be on a snap count or limited in some capacity if he, indeed, suits up for tonight’s game.
The Chiefs were already down a superstar but on the other side of the field.
Star DT Chris Jones continues to hold out as he looks to get a new contract with the organization, and he’s made it clear that he has no intention whatsoever to suit up if that doesn’t happen, regardless of how much money they fine him.
