The Dallas Cowboys let a fantastic opportunity slip away after finishing the 2021 regular season with a 12-5 record.

That mark gave them home-field advantage in the Wild Card Round which they should have won given the level of talent they had on both sides of the ball.

Unfortunately, the San Francisco 49ers ended their hopes with a 23-17 defeat.

You know that the performance is bad when team owner Jerry Jones is still upset about the loss a week after that game.

But the 2022 season could yield a better fortune because of the teams they will play against.

The NFL on CBS revealed the team rankings based on their strength of schedule.

It’s not surprising that the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals are at the top of the list after playing in Super Bowl LVI.

Sandwiched between them are the Arizona Cardinals while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are at number four.

But on the other end of the list, the Cowboys are tied with the Washington Commanders for the weakest strength of schedule.

Furthermore, the four teams from the NFC East have the easiest schedules based on last season’s win-loss marks.

Cowboys Have The Luck Of The Draw

Dallas remains the favorite to win the NFC East despite losing Cedrick Wilson and Amari Cooper.

With the talent they have, they should have no problems defeating NFC North teams like the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, and Minnesota Vikings.

The Green Bay Packers could be a toss-up, especially after Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Cowboys will also face the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars, which had seven combined victories in 2021.

Finally, they should have no problems defeating the New York Giants and Washington Commanders.

However, the Cowboys might be tested against the Philadelphia Eagles, but they have what it takes to win over their rivals.
