The 2022-23 Denver Nuggets continue to wreak havoc against every opposition.
Back-to-back MVP Nikola Jokic is making a strong case for winning the award for the third year in a row, and Mike Malone’s squad continues to hold on to that first seed in the Western Conference.
And while that may be a surprise to some, NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has called it multiple times.
The former Phoenix Suns superstar strongly believes the Nuggets will finish the season with the best record in the Western Conference, especially if Jamal Murray steps up:
“I told you I thought the Nuggets are gonna finish with the best record in the Western Conference,” Barkley said. “I think they’re the deepest team in the NBA. It’s going to come down — Joker is gonna do his thing — but it’s going to go down to Jamal Murray, in my opinion. They got everything.”

Murray hasn’t been at his best since coming back from a major injury, but he’s slowly getting his legs back under him.
He’s an elite sharpshooter and an explosive scorer, and a guy who can also lead the offense in those few stretches when Jokic isn’t on the floor.
As for Jokic, he continues to get better every single year, and he’s no longer the defensive liability he used to be when he first entered the league.
Add the Nuggets’ homecourt advantage, given Colorado’s height, and they might as well be this year’s team to beat out of the Western Conference, just like Chuck predicted.
