The Dallas Mavericks will continue to be must-watch television for as long as Luka Doncic is in town.
But truth be told, they don’t have a second go-to guy or a player that’s worthy of making us change the channel and tune in if Doncic isn’t on the floor.
Mark Cuban has failed to surround Doncic with the talent he needs to thrive, as the Kristaps Porzingis experiment failed, and then they let Jalen Brunson walk away.
No one can win on his own in the National Basketball Association, not even Luka Doncic.
That’s why Charles Barkley believes the Mavs aren’t actually a good team, it’s just that Luka is so great that he makes them look good.
Chuck said I love Luka but the Mavs aren’t a good team, just a team with a good player

That seems to be a somewhat popular opinion around the league.
In fact, shortly before the Mavs’ loss to the Boston Celtics, Chuck’s colleague Shaquille O’Neal had plenty of praise for the former third-overall pick:
“Luka, Shaq here. I don’t consider you a scorer. I consider you a prolific scorer. When I was a prolific scorer, I used to tell myself, ‘I need to get 40, or I need to get 50.’ Do you go into the game with the same mentality, or do you let the game come to you?” Shaq asked the Slovenian.
“Just trying to win the game and like you said, ‘Let the game come to you,” Doncic replied.
Luka Doncic is a generational talent, and he could definitely lead this team back to championship contention.
But they better start making some moves and getting him some help before his frustration drives him away from the team.
