The Los Angeles Chargers didn’t get off to the start of the season they hoped for.
They hired Kellen Moore to serve as their new offensive coordinator, but their defensive and decision-making issues remain the same.
That’s why, following their upset road loss to the Tennessee Titans, someone asked HC Brandon Staley whether their early-season struggles had anything to do with them blowing a 20-point lead in the playoffs last season.
Needless to say, Staley didn’t care much about the question, and he went at the reporter for it (via Dov Kleiman).

Truth be told, it was hard to make a case for Staley keeping his job after such an epic meltdown last season.
If it wasn’t for the fact that he led an injury-riddled Chargers team to the postseason, there most likely wouldn’t be a chance he would’ve stayed with the team.
The Chargers jumped to a 21-point lead in the Wild Card game before Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars rallied in the second half to secure a win.
Their woes seem to continue, as they can’t figure out a way to close out their games and win one-possession matchups.
It happened to them in Week 1 when the Miami Dolphins routed them with an epic performance by Tua Tagovailoa, and it happened again in Week 2 vs. the Tennessee Titans rather sluggish and one-dimensional offense.
There’s no doubt that the Chargers have more than enough talent to turn things around, but they’ll have to make some major tweaks before they continue sinking in the standings.
