The reunion of the Boston Celtics‘ legendary big three on Sunday night was quite heartwarming.
After years of conflict and hurt feelings, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett came together at the retirement of Garnett’s Celtics jersey.
The years-long beef was squashed and put to rest with a touching hug at center court.

When speaking to the crowd, Garnett gave a shout-out to Allen.
“It’s good to see Ray Allen here,” Garnett said.
“Real s–t. It’s good to see you, man. You next, dog,” he continued.
This led to Allen getting up to hug Garnett, with Pierce running up and wrapping his arms around them too.
After all this time, one of the biggest riffs in NBA history has come to an end.
The Hatchet Is Buried
These three players made the Celtics a powerhouse team in the 2000s.
On their backs, the team won an NBA championship in 2008.
But a few years later, Allen decided to leave Boston to win another ring with LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
Garnett and Pierce have said they were blindsided by Allen’s departure.
For a while, it seemed like these three would never see eye-to-eye again, especially in person.
But the ice between them began to thaw recently.
They were seen chatting and chuckling at this year’s All-Star Weekend and Boston fans thought that maybe, just maybe, they could finally get along again.
Now, just a few weeks later, they’re all hugging it out in front of thousands of Celtics fans.
It’s great to see these three players being friends yet again but most NBA fans still wonder what would have happened if they remained together for a few more years.
