Cedric Mullins Has Orioles Fans Interested In 2022

The 2022 Baltimore Orioles are, unsurprisingly, in last place of the AL East division, with a 1-4 record.

However, and somewhat surprisingly, fans are ecstatic about the team in the early going.

During the Orioles’ opening home series against the Milwaukee Brewers this week, attendance numbers have been more than satisfactory in Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Not only that, but people seems to be involved with the team: they cheer on every hit, every homer, and every crucial play.

When Cedric Mullins steps to the plate, they cheer even more.

After breaking out in 2021 with a 30-30 season (yes, the only 30-30 performer in the big leagues last year was a member of the Orioles), Mullins has everybody in the organization excited about the future.

“I can’t tell what I love more, Cedric Mullins balling out again or the fact that O’s fans are showing out in the early going. It’s close. Love both a lot,” analyst and baseball personality Jared Carrabis tweeted, with a video.

In the short clip, Mullins is shown hitting a grand slam off Brewers’ left-hander Eric Lauer to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 lead.

Fans Went Wild After Mullins’ Grand Slam

The O’s eventually lost the game, but that home runs represented a moment of pure joy for almost 12,000 fans.

Attendance won’t significantly go up unless the team is surprisingly competitive in 2022, and it may not be there just yet.

But it’s refreshing to know that Baltimore’s crowd can be loud when supporting its team.

The O’s should eventually be competitive again, and hopefully, Mullins is the star of the show.

Their fans, who have had to overcome years of mediocre play, certainly deserve it.
