The trade deadline is creeping closer by the second, and rumors are swirling all around the baseball world.
The official deadline is at 6 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday night.
One name that has emerged in trade rumors is that of Carlos Rodon.
The left-hander was signed to a two-year, $44 million contract by the San Francisco Giants after the lockout and was set to fill the hole left by Kevin Gausman‘s departure.
Rodon went seven shutout innings last night against the Chicago Cubs, allowing just two hits and striking out 10.
After the game, Rodon was asked about the trade rumors and gave a rather candid response.
Giants writer Alex Pavlovic tweeted Rodon’s response.
Carlos Rodón on everything that’s going on: “What I’m worried about is tomorrow, I’m worried about winning tomorrow.”

Rodon Focused On Winning
The trade deadline is a hard time for players, especially if their names have been brought up in trade rumors and discussions.
But Rodon kept things simple with his response last night and it’s clear that he’s only focused on one thing.
Right now, he’s a member of the Giants and wants to help them win ballgames.
And he sure did that last night in what could turn out to be his final start in a Giants uniform.
If that’s the case, then he saved his best for last.
Rodon would be a welcome addition for any team seeking a starting pitcher.
He’d certainly be worth a lot, as the Giants would probably get a hefty return for him.
But a team like the New York Yankees could use him in their rotation, as could many other teams who are out looking for a starter.
It seems very likely that Rodon will be traded at some point before the deadline.
Now, it’s just a matter of where he’ll end up.
