The Arizona Cardinals needed to find a head coach that will turn their franchise around.
After an abysmal 4-13 record last season, they fired Kliff Kingsbury and hired Jonathan Gannon.
Gannon was the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive coordinator this past season.
He led one of the best defenses in the NFL to the league lead in sacks and held opponents to only 20.2 points per game.
So not only will Gannon have to fix the defense, but his offense also needs some work.
The first thing he must do is build a strong rapport with quarterback Kyler Murray.
Murray was drafted first overall in 2019 because of his elite dual-threat ability.
Unfortunately, he suffered a Torn ACL last season and is expected to miss the start of the 2023 campaign.
Even so, Murray still has a bright future in Arizona, and his massive contract extension proves that.
Murray’s work ethic has been questioned plenty since he signed that extension.
But, tight end Zach Ertz voiced his support for the team’s franchise QB.
“People forget how talented he is. He was drafted No. 1 overall for a reason.”

If the Cardinals want to have the success they are hoping for, getting Murray back on the field is critical.
No team can win in this league without a franchise quarterback, and Murray has proven that he is one.
Gannon must bring in an offensive coordinator that can get the best out of Murray.
One name to keep an eye on is Greg Roman.
The former Baltimore Ravens OC has plenty of experience with running quarterbacks.
He had some very impressive years calling plays for Lamar Jackson.
Gannon should take a long look at him should he remain available.
Overall, the Cardinals need to support Murray, because he is locked in as their quarterback of the future.NEXT: DeAndre Hopkins Has Lost A Key Point Of Leverage
