With MLB The Show 23 set to hit the shelves at local gaming stores on March 28, or March 24 for those who pre-ordered, now is a good time to take a look at who some of the top players in the game are.
Three St. Louis Cardinals stars find themselves in the Top 40 in terms of rankings in the video game.
Reigning National League MVP Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, and All-Star closer Ryan Helsley.
On Twitter, the Cardinals celebrated the news of three of their stars being added to the “Diamond Club” and ranking among the Top 40 players in the upcoming game.

Goldschmidt, Arenado, and Helsley were each All-Stars alongside Albert Pujols and Miles Mikolas last season.
For context, if a player has a high enough overall rank in the video game, they will be considered part of the “Diamond Club,” and their player card will show a diamond which contains their overall rank.
Helsley appeared in 54 games for the Cardinals last season and split closer duties with Giovanny Gallegos for a good portion of the season.
Still, he saved 19 games and posted a record of 9-1 with an ERA of 1.25.
Goldschmidt and Arenado need no introduction of course.
They each finished in the top three in the MVP voting.
Manny Machado came in second and sandwiched himself in between the two.
But these stars will be well represented in the upcoming game.
Fans of the Cardinals are certainly looking forward to getting their hands on the game and playing with the team’s superstars.
