Albert Pujols put on a show yesterday.
This is something that the St. Louis Cardinals and their fans grew accustomed to during Pujols’ first stint with the team.
But yesterday, he recorded his second two-homer game of the season.
He hit home run No. 688 in the bottom of the second and followed it up with No. 689 in the bottom of the eighth.
That home run turned out to be the difference maker.
But after he made contact with the second one, he dropped the bat and flexed towards the Cardinals dugout saying, “This is our house.”
Katie Woo of the Athletic retweeted a video from fellow Cardinals insider Brenden Schaeffer, describing the beauty of the scene when Pujols made contact and all of Cardinal Nation stood up to cheer.
The swing, followed instantly by every fan raising his or her fists, and the flex by Albert to his team…
Just a hell of a sequence. https://t.co/3yM1EyV1dd

Albert Calls Game
There really is nothing quite like a home run by The Machine.
His swing is just so perfect, and he made it even better when he flexed toward the Cards dugout.
He’s a veteran player, but he sure knows how to get everyone in St. Louis fired up.
Every time he hits, all of Cardinal Nation is on the edge of its collective seat, hoping to see some magic out of their former MVP.
He delivered that and then some yesterday.
He’s now 11 home runs away from reaching the 700 mark.
But just the mere sight of Pujols hitting a home run in St. Louis is enough to fire up not just the city of St. Louis, but the entire sports world.
Pujols’ farewell tour is more than just a last ride.
