The St. Louis Cardinals will be getting some reinforcements soon.
Out of all MLB teams, the Cardinals had the most players away from spring camp competing in the World Baseball Classic.
Tommy Edman was away from the team and competing with Team Korea in the WBC.
However, he is one of the reinforcements that is joining the Cardinals soon.
On Thursday, he was back on the field at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Florida.
On Twitter, Cardinals writer Ben Frederickson posted a photo of Edman out on the field with manager Oliver Marmol, revealing that the team’s star shortstop had returned to camp.

Team Korea did not advance very far in the WBC, not even making it to the quarterfinals.
Fortunately for the Cardinals, they finally get one of their key contributors back.
With Team Canada also eliminated, slugger Tyler O’Neill will also be returning in short order.
Edman and Rookie of the Year finalist Brendan Donovan form a deadly middle-infield combination for St. Louis, who already has Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado on the corners at first base and third base.
The 27-year-old won a Gold Glove in 2021 after emerging as the team’s starting second baseman.
The young utilityman has now shifted over to shortstop with former All-Star Paul DeJong continuing to struggle at the plate.
Edman is also valuable because of the fact that he is a switch hitter and can provide solid contact and power from both sides of the plate.
His speed too makes him a weapon for St. Louis.
