The Arizona Cardinals‘ trade for wide receiver Marquise Brown went under the radar.
It was shocking that the Baltimore Ravens shipped away one of Lamar Jackson‘s top targets.
But Baltimore listened to Brown’s request by sending him to Arizona in exchange for the Cardinals’ 23rd and 100th overall selections in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Brown withheld the information from his new teammate, quarterback Kyler Murray, even when they worked out together this offseason.
But according to NBC Sports’ Peter King, Brown didn’t want to be in Baltimore anymore because the offense was too conservative.
The Ravens’ loss is the Cardinals’ gain and the team is already generating excitement for their duo.

The Cardinals’ Twitter account posted a photo of Brown’s jersey number and said, “Y’all ready for that One-Two Punch? @Primetime_jet will be rocking #2.”
It is a one-two punch in terms of numbers and in-game performance.
Murray wears jersey number one and Brown dons number two.
But this duo could open up the Cardinals’ offense even further.
With DeAndre Hopkins set to miss the first six weeks of the 2022 season, Murray will rely on Brown in the passing game.
Last season, Brown finished with 91 receptions, 1,008 yards, and six touchdowns with the Ravens.
This year, he hopes to improve on his numbers, given that he’s playing in a more explosive offense.
Renewing Their Partnership
Murray and Brown played together at Oklahoma for two seasons.
The play-caller transferred from Texas A&M while the wideout came from the College of the Canyons.
Brown went over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his two seasons with the Sooners.
He also collected 17 touchdowns and averaged 18.3 yards per completion.
Rekindling their tandem should hype up Cardinals fans about the team’s chances this season.
