The St. Louis Cardinals may soon have to make a very tough roster decision as it pertains to Opening Day.
The team may only be nine games into their Grapefruit League schedule, but that doesn’t mean that tough decisions don’t await.
That’s because top prospect Jordan Walker has been on fire this spring.
He hit a three-run home run on February 26 against the Miami Marlins and hit two more in the Cardinals comeback win over the Washington Nationals on Saturday.
Fans are already envisioning him as a part of their long-term future.
On Twitter, Derrick Goold posted a picture of the team’s top prospect signing autographs for fans.

Fans clearly like what they have seen thus far out of Walker and are enjoying watching him play.
But with him signing autographs for fans, it has become clear that he is soaking up Cardinals baseball and understanding what it means to be a part of such a historic organization.
The Cardinals’ only big addition this winter was the signing of Willson Contreras.
However, with the way Walker has been hitting, Contreras may have been the only major addition needed, at least for the lineup.
Walker may eventually find himself in the mix for the designated hitter spot along with Juan Yepez and Nolan Gorman and could ultimately win the job as the season progresses.
Cardinals fans are already falling in love with the top prospect and can’t wait to see what is in store for him as the start of the 2023 season approaches.NEXT: The Cardinals Have Some Competition For Important Role
