After finishing out his career with the St. Louis Cardinals, veteran slugger and three-time MVP Albert Pujols is fulfilling his personal services contract with the Los Angeles Angels.
That deal came along with his 10-year contract he signed with the team back in 2011.
Last season, Pujols capped off his memorable farewell tour by reaching and passing the 700-home run mark.
The Cardinals were ultimately eliminated by the Philadelphia Phillies in the Wild Card Series, which put an end to Pujols’ legendary career.
But with the two-time World Series champion now fulfilling his personal services contract with the Angels, a Cardinals fan made a rather bold prediction, saying that perhaps Pujols could try to convince two of his former teammates in Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani to join the Cards in the future.

Albert will be busy all season recruiting Trout and Ohtani to the Cardinals. #STLCards

Obviously, this is unlikely to happen, as the Cardinals have shown a reluctance to spend on several high-quality free agents.
Ohtani is a free agent at the end of the season and is sure to garner a ton of interest and earn himself a nice payday.
It’s unlikely that the Cardinals would try to land him, but with Adam Wainwright retiring and the need for a bona-fide ace, the fit would be there.
Trout is still under contract with the Halos for the next several years.
Still, you never say never, and Pujols could potentially work some magic for the Cardinals by finding a way to recruit the two Angels stars.
Cardinals fans would certainly not be opposed to that.
