The Minnesota Twins and Miami Marlins completed a blockbuster trade on Friday afternoon.
The deal will send right-hander Pablo Lopez to the Twins along with two prospects in exchange for reigning American League batting champ Luis Arraez.
Earlier in the week, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that Miami had previously had preliminary discussions with the St. Louis Cardinals about Lopez.
Unfortunately for the Cardinals and their fans, the hole in the starting rotation has still yet to be filled.
On Twitter, one fan expressed his frustration with the team’s front office, encouraging them to “wake up” and go get a starter.
Pablo Lopez is officially off the board.

At this point, there aren’t many options left, meaning that the Cardinals will most likely wait until the trade deadline to pick up a starting pitcher.
Bullpen additions could still happen.
However, if the Cardinals plan on going for another pitcher, they ought to make sure that he is capable of starting, just so they have enough depth to prepare for potential injuries.
Both Steven Matz and Jack Flaherty are returning from seasons in which each of them spent considerable time on the injured list.
Adam Wainwright remains healthy, but had a poor showing in the month of September.
It sounds like a broken record, but fans remain frustrated with the front office and their lack of activity.
Their offseason strategy, or lack thereof has cost them in recent years, and stands to reason why the team has failed to advance past the Wild Card round in each of the last three postseasons.
