If you’ve have ever had a post removed or an account blocked on Facebook, you may be wondering what caused the issue.
Sometimes a post can be reported, and Facebook will evaluate it.
If they feel they don’t want it on their website, they will remove it.
Certainly, this can be frustrating, and you may be wondering who reported you.
In our guide, we will help you understand if you can find out who reported you on Facebook and some other important rules and guidelines about Facebook.
Can You Find Out Who Reported You on Facebook?
You cannot find out who reported you on Facebook.
Facebook keeps this information confidential as it could become a problem if you knew who it was that reported you.
If you have a real problem and you think all of your posts are being reported for no reason, you can contact Facebook to have them help you sort things out.
If a post is reported but is, in fact, in line with the Facebook guidelines, it will not be removed from the platform.
Some people will use reporting in a negative way if they want content removed that competes against their business or organization.
What Happens If I Report Something in a Facebook Group?
If you decide there is something in your Facebook group which does not follow the Facebook guidelines or guidelines of the group, you can report it.
Unlike reporting a post on Facebook where your information is kept entirely confidential, things work a little differently in a group.
The Admin of the group will get a notification that a post has been reported.
Once the Admin reviews the post, they can decide whether to remove it or leave it in place.
The Admin of the group will know who reported the post.
The Admin handles these issues, and there is no need to report directly to Facebook.
If the person who posted the information in question needs to be removed from the group or warned or blocked, the Admin can handle it.
The Admin of the group may reach out to you to see what you thought was offensive and have you help them work towards the best solution for the group.
What Are the Facebook Community Standards?
Facebook lays things out very clearly when it comes to their Community Standards.
They have an entire webpage dedicated to this topic.
If you ever worry about what the standards are and whether or not your posts are compliant, you can check the community standards.
Most of the time, the reporting process works well to help keep people safe and to make sure Facebook does not become violent.
Another reason posts can get reported on Facebook is if they are copied material.
If you take someone’s original post and claim it as your own, it may be reported.
The post will likely be removed as it is not your property to begin with.
Facebook can trace things back and realize where the post originated.
Sharing posts on Facebook is completely encouraged and appropriate.
It is just essential to make sure that original authors and creators get the credit they deserve.
How Do I Report a Profile?
If you want to report more than just a post, such as an entire profile, Facebook has a procedure for this.
You can click on the three small dots you see under a person’s name.
When you click those dots, you will see a message come up which says “Find Support or Report Profile.”
From there, you will be able to report the profile and have Facebook look a bit further into the issue.
There are a few reasons you may want to report a profile.
If your profile is being copied, you may consider reporting to make sure your information is kept safe.
You may also report a profile if you think it is fake, and someone has created it to cause harm to another person.
If you are just annoyed by things a person posts, you don’t need to report their entire profile.
Unless it violates the Facebook Community Standards, then chances are Facebook won’t even do anything about it.
Instead, it would be best to block or unfriend this person.
If you are going to unfriend the person, they still might be able to see part of your profile, the public part.
If you block someone, they won’t even be able to see you at all on the Facebook platform.
These things can be done very quickly, and they will not show up as a red flag on your account or on account of the other user.
You can block as many people as you need to feel safe on Facebook.
You should also check your privacy settings and make sure they are set up correctly as well.
How Do I Report a Threatening Message?
Sometimes you may get a message that is threatening or spammish.
Again, Facebook has set up a measure to help make sure you stay protected.
With these messages, you will have to click on the drop-down menu where you will see a button for “something’s wrong.”
When you click on “Something’s wrong,” you will get to choose what it is that is causing the problem, and you can send Feedback to Facebook.
Sometimes this will be all you hear about the situation, and other times, there could be more steps.
If you think a message looks especially troubling, you may not want to open it at all.
Conclusion
Facebook is a company that puts a lot of measures in place to protect its users.
Your safety on Facebook is a priority, but you must take an active role in the process.
You have to pay attention to your profile and make sure you have the correct privacy measures in place.
When you see something that looks wrong, don’t be afraid to report it.

I’ve never posted anything derogatory or threatening on Facebook or any other social media.
I was posting on a live congressional hearing. I wasn’t threatening anyone. It was in reference to Afghans women attending school. Ted Liu was speaking and when he mentioned the girls I knew the Taliban is not tolerant of them in school. In some cases they are killed. I mentioned killed and now in facebook jail for three days. They are now using the excuse of Covid as to why they can’t review what I clicked on that was misunderstood by Facebook something to that effect.
I have been reported for saying
I wish I could and the unicorn sleep emoji
I have no idea why this violates the standards on nudity or sexual activity
Facebook has gone insane
Why don’t they give you a chance to defend yourself against the accuser. That is totally not right and is dictatorial which they are. Faceless things who makes decisions on whether you can post or not forever how long. I have been on here 14 years and they ban me for having an opinion. Isn’t that the whole reason for fb?.??
Maxamed amiin sh birta
Agreed!!!!
I agree! Someone that doesn’t like me must have reported me and they closed my account permanently vi barely post. And I had no chance to defend my accusations or see what the accusations were

I got reported for a Sanrio Post (Hello Kitty). How does that violate community standards?
Facebook will not give me an explanation as to how I’ve violated community standards. The marketplace is how I market to my customers/ clients. This is very sad and frustrating.
I agree!! Recently decided to share some poems I wrote in the years after my lovely mum died. In the hope of sharing and helping others who have suffered loss to see that adjustment to grief is possible! Suddenly ‘restricted’ for 29 days’ for breaching their ‘community standards’. I’ve read them and don’t see at all how sharing poems I wrote about my lovely mum breaches these. Facebook has lost the plot!!
my group page together with my co admin of this group was reported by someone else and of course we didnt know why we are reported .? can you help us

I’ve been reported twice in 2 weeks
First one I said “I had to turn the volume down because it freaked me out a bit lol”
Second time I said “must be made by a man” (with eye roll emoji)
