The Detroit Pistons might still be struggling in the Eastern Conference but their star rookie, Cade Cunningham, certainly isn’t.
Cunningham is having a wonderful first season in the NBA and is just one of the many new players in contention for Rookie of the Year.
However, when it comes to other rookies, Cunningham knows how to beat them.

Statmuse points out that Cunningham is a beast when it comes to playing against other rookies.
The Pistons star is 7-2 against other rookie talents Jalen Green, Evan Mobley, Scottie Barnes, and Jalen Suggs.
Does this mean that Cunningham is the odds-on favorite for Rookie of the Year?
The New Guys
This year’s rookie class is absolutely stacked, one of the best groups of new players the NBA has seen in years.
No one is quite sure who will come out on top and claim the Rookie of the Year honors when the season is done.
For a while, it seemed like Mobley with the Cleveland Cavaliers would be the choice, then Barnes in Toronto started to make more noise.
Meanwhile, other players like Suggs, Josh Giddey, Franz Wagner, and more are impressing fans all over the league.
But in the end, the honors may be given to the number one draft pick from last year: Cunningham.
It’s true that the Pistons are still in a lot of trouble – it’ll be a couple more years before they are the team they should be – but Cunningham is off to a terrific start.
In a group of many wildly talented rookies, Cunningham is turning out to perhaps be the very best.
He may not be beating a whole lot of other teams but he is sure beating other rookies.
