Buster Posey is perhaps the most representative player of the San Francisco Giants dynasty in the 2010s.
They won World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014, and Posey was the starting catcher and spiritual leader for all of them.
His contributions as a player can’t be denied or ignored, but he is about to be tied to the Giants for the long haul in a different role.
“Today, the #SFGiants announced three-time World Series Champion and seven-time All-Star Buster Posey has become a member of the ownership group. This marks the first time that a former player has joined the organization as a principal partner and member of the Board of Directors,” the Giants announced via Twitter.

We have to imagine fans are ecstatic.
They often complain about ownerships being full of people who don’t know the first thing about baseball.
Well, Giants fans, you can be sure Posey knows a thing or two about this beautiful sport.
Posey Has MLB Experience And Leadership
Additionally, he knows what it takes to win, both in the regular season and the postseason; and has loads of experience.
Granted, being an executive or a member of the ownership board is definitely not the same as playing, but it requires leadership skills that Posey evidently has.
The 2022 season has been a disappointment for the Giants.
They won 107 games last year and made it to the Divisional Series, but this season, they won’t make the playoffs.
They still have a mathematical chance, but their 71-77 record is perhaps the most disappointing in baseball all things considered.
Posey will try to revert the situation starting next year.
He will have a lot on his plate.
