Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper has always showed respect for the game’s legends and veteran players.
He was brought up by veterans in the Washington Nationals roster back in the early 2010s, and he might become a legend one day if keeps playing like this.
Speaking of legends, Harper was asked about two of them leaving MLB this season, when the World Series ends: the St. Louis Cardinals‘ Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina.
Classy as he is, Harper showed utmost respect for the two stars.
“Bryce Harper on Pujols/Molina: I think the game is going to have a little bit of a hole for a little bit with Yadi leaving and Albert as well. I have so much respect and gratitude for those guys, because without them, some of us wouldn’t be here right now because they paved the way,” MLB insider Bob Nightengale tweeted, quoting Harper.

Baseball Will Miss The Two Stars
The game will go on, but there is no denying that fans, especially Cardinals fans, will miss the two players.
Not only were they both charismatic stars who were very good at their jobs, but they helped grow the game.
By being Latino – Pujols is from the Dominican Republic and Molina is Puerto Rican – they were responsible for drawing interest from thousands of people from those countries in the Cardinals.
They put people in the stadium’s seats on a nightly basis, and in front of the TV, too.
Both are future Hall of Famers, with Pujols possibly being a unanimous choice after becoming the fourth player to reach 700 home runs.
Molina was the heart and soul of the Cardinals’ heroic 2006 and 20111 World Series-winning teams, and will be missed, too.
Harper is just acknowledging the obvious: MLB will miss the two living legends.

Not to take anything away from Molina, but he’s not in Pujols class and is quite frankly overrated. He was a great defensive catcher and a barely average hitter.
He’s basically a poor mans Pudge Rodriguez. Not a Hall of Famer.
