The Denver Broncos paid a high price in acquiring Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson.
They gave up two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a 2022 selection to the Seattle Seahawks.
Quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, and defensive lineman Shelby Harris are also part of the package.
The Broncos could not care less about what they gave away because they feel that Wilson will help their offense perform at an elite level.
Over the years, Denver has underperformed even if they have Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon III in the backfield.
Meanwhile, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, and Courtland Sutton should give them a potent receiving trio.
Therefore, the franchise is banking on its new starter to help end its postseason drought.
But until the games start, the team will hype up the season by posting videos like this.
There’s a new S̶h̶e̶r̶i̶f̶f̶ intern in town. 🤠 pic.twitter.com/dFR5JC9r3C
— Denver Broncos (@Broncos) May 13, 2022
The caption reads “There’s a new sheriff in town” and it features Wilson and Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.
It’s fitting to have Manning in the video because he was the starter when the Broncos won Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers.
The short video shows Manning training his replacement because his “internship” is about to end.
The next frame shows a slow motion walk with Manning and Wilson side-by-side.
There’s also an appearance by ESPN’s Adam Schefter as Manning gave Wilson a lesson on insiders.
Broncos’ mascot, Miles, also appeared when Wilson was working the mail room.
Broncos Are One Of The AFC’s Favorites
Wilson did say in the video that “he has a lot to learn.”
But after ten seasons on the job, he is the person that can navigate the talented Broncos offense.
Last season, he had a strong finish after getting surgery on his dislocated finger.
This year, he is raring to bounce back and prove that the high price Denver paid for him is worth it.
