The Denver Broncos front office seemingly doesn’t care about taking a break once the NFL season is over.
In fact, they have been one of the league’s most active teams in their search for a new head coach, scheduling interviews with the most sought-after candidates.
Their hyper-vigilance has created an opportunity with former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton.
Denver is scheduled to be the first team this month to have an in-person head-coach interview with Sean Payton, per source. The Broncos and Payton are scheduled to meet Tuesday morning in Los Angeles.

Payton and the Broncos staff are slated to meet next week.
Payton was the Saints’ coach for 15 seasons but decided to move on from the team in 2021.
It appears that he is open to coming back to coach again, and the Broncos were the first to hop aboard the Payton train.
After a season that severely underwhelmed expectations, the Broncos could use a leader like Payton in their locker room, with the hope that he could instill confidence in a team that lacked it this season.
The Broncos have many talented pieces to their roster but were unable to put it together for an entire season, resulting in a 5-12 record.
Will a coach like Payton have what it takes to bring a struggling offense together?
The Broncos were the lowest-scoring team in the league this year, even though they were led by quarterback Russell Wilson.
With any luck, Payton will be able to rally the troops in a big way.
Whoever is the new coach of the Broncos will certainly have their work cut out for them, considering that Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert are currently dominating the division.
