Whenever an NFL team is looking for a new head coach, any decision that a team makes is scrutinized.
The Denver Broncos are currently looking for a new head coach after firing Nathaniel Hackett midseason.
While many have speculated about who that newest head coach will be, one NFL pundit made a clarifying statement this afternoon surrounding the Broncos’ current state of affairs.
Penner wants him. Not everyone in the org does. Some want Shaw. Football people want Quinn. https://t.co/6Sdfd7pWk1

Similarly to the other teams who have head coaching vacancies, the Broncos have a difficult decision to make.
They have interviewed Sean Payton, who many have pointed to as the obvious choice for the team to make.
However, as Benjamin Allbright points out, it appears that the strongest advocate for Payton is their owner, Gregory Penner.
Many within the organization have pointed to Dan Quinn as their favorite pick for head coach, and others have been singing the praises of David Shaw.
Shaw has been seen as a long-shot candidate for the Broncos job, especially considering that he has been coaching at the collegiate level for the past 15 years.
Quinn, on the other hand, has been the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys and is one of the most prominent head coaching candidates, not only for the Broncos but for other positions across the league as well.
Whoever takes the Broncos’ job will have their work cut out for them in 2023, especially considering the strength of their division.
The AFC West has the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, who have staked a place as the top two teams in the division.
Will a new head coach for the Broncos be able to make a significant difference?
