It’s like Denver Broncos fans knew their team would not succeed in overtime.
Instead, a lot of them opted to leave instead of seeing their team falter.

NFL Memes shared a video of the sea of orange leaving Empower Field at Mile High.
Thursday Night Football analyst Kirk Herbstreit said, “The Broncos fans are leaving.”
To which, legendary play-by-play announcer Al Michaels commented, “They’ve had enough.”
Herbstreit added, “It’s 9-9. They’re like, the heck with it. I’m outta here.”
The Colts just tied the game via a Chase McLaughlin field goal when the exodus started.
It seems like they knew things would not go according to plan, and that’s how the game ended.
The Broncos had a chance to win the game in overtime after Indianapolis opted for a field goal.
They were knocking at the Colts’ end zone and needed just a few yards to score a touchdown.
But instead of finding an open K.J. Hamler or handing the ball to Melvin Gordon, Wilson threw the ball to Courtland Sutton.
The Broncos suffered another loss when Stephon Gilmore batted the ball away.
Expectation Is Different From Reality
Broncos fans were elated when Wilson was added to their roster.
After years of frustration, they finally had a play-caller that can lead them to the promised land.
Unfortunately, the honeymoon turned into a nightmare.
The Broncos scored only nine points in the loss and are on a two-game losing streak.
They don’t look good in their wins either, tallying a combined 27 points.
Wilson cannot maximize a receiving corps of Sutton, Hamler, and Jerry Jeudy.
Worst yet, his $245 million contract extension is looking like a catastrophe five games into the 2022 season.
The Broncos have no choice but to pay Wilson or absorb a massive dead cap.
