The Walton-Penner Family of the Walmart fortune recently purchased the Denver Broncos franchise for a record-breaking $4.5 billion.
It’s the largest price paid for an NFL team and it was finalized after a legal battle between the Estate of Pat Bowlen and the camp of former owner Edgar Kaiser Jr.
Now that the court matter has been finalized, the team can now focus on their promising future thanks to talented units on both sides of the ball.
Nathaniel Hackett’s creativity and Russell Wilson‘s experience should help the team return to the playoffs for the first time since winning Super Bowl 50.
Meanwhile, their defense will be anchored by Bradley Chubb, Justin Simmons, and Pat Surtain II, to name a few.
But while they could make a huge leap on the field, an esteemed individual will join the ownership group.

The Broncos’ official Twitter account shared that former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will become one of the team’s owners.
She does have a link to the city because she attended the University of Denver for her college degrees.
But she does know her football too because her father was a coach and she also served on the first College Football Playoff Committee.
Torn Between Two Teams?
Principal owner Rob Walton said, “A highly respected public servant, accomplished academic and corporate leader, Secretary Rice is well known as a passionate and knowledgeable football fan who has worked to make the sport stronger and better.”
But now that she has a stake with the Broncos, will she still support her beloved Cleveland Browns?
She would be thrilled to see both teams have success.
Therefore, a Broncos-Browns showdown would be her dream playoff matchup.
