Brock Purdy has taken the NFL world by storm since he got the starting quarterback job with the San Francisco 49ers.
While it took injuries to Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance for him to become their starting quarterback, he’s made the most of his situation.
Purdy came into the NFL as the last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, but has played like a first-round pick.
While he has only five regular season starts, his performance is enough to make headlines.
With the NFL Honors coming up, Purdy headlines the Rookie of the Year finalists for offense.

– 49ers QB Brock Purdy

So what makes him so special to get into the ROTY talks with only five starts under his belt?
The first thing helping him is how he had at least two touchdowns in each game he started.
When you include his two playoff games, he only has one game with zero touchdowns.
He’s also smart with the ball, only throwing two interceptions as a starting quarterback.
Add in how he’s undefeated as a starting quarterback and you can see the reason behind the hype.
He’s winning big time games, games that got the 49ers the NFC West division title.
While the other two offensive finalists for ROTY are solid players, the Brock Purdy fever causes people to forget about them.
The way he leads and commands his offense puts all eyes on him.
While Kenneth Walker had a 1,000+ yard rushing season, it’s Purdy who is affecting fans and sports analysts’ opinions.
Because he’s the last pick of the NFL Draft, his accomplishments are amazing to everyone.
