Brock Purdy’s historic story in the NFL is still continuing, despite the San Francisco 49ers getting eliminated from the postseason.
While his story came about from his amazing play filling in as the 49ers starting quarterback, it continues with his toughness.
During the NFC Championship Game, the seventh-round quarterback left the game with an injury.
However, he came back to finish the game, despite his injury.
But even after the game was over, the young quarterback wasn’t believing what doctors were telling him.
With doctors telling him he needs Tommy John surgery, he’s looking for a second opinion.
#49ers QB Brock Purdy has not made a decision on whether he'll undergo a repair or reconstruction (Tommy John) for the elbow injury he suffered in the NFC Championship Game.
Purdy told reporters he's awaiting second opinions and will weigh all his options before deciding.

While the season is over, the surgery will take time for him to recover from if he indeed gets the surgery.
The surgery’s recovery time is anywhere from nine to 12 months, a move which could end his 2023 season before it begins.
This might be the reason behind Purdy waiting on further medical options with his injury.
He knows a Tommy John surgery now will prevent him from starting the 2023 NFL season at the minimum.
However, the 12-month range will prevent him from playing any games this upcoming season.
While he came to the 49ers as the third-string quarterback, he proved he’s a first-string caliber quarterback.
But if he can’t play in 2023, he loses his chance to prove he can be the starting quarterback the 49ers need.
With him searching for more medical advice, he could delay his return time.
However, if he doesn’t need the surgery, the search could help him return in time for next season.
If this happens, the story of Purdy will begin again when the 2023 NFL season kicks off.
