The 2022 MLB season isn’t going well for the Chicago Cubs.
While fans want to see the Cubs make the playoffs, the team instead gives them a disappointing season for 2022.
However, they started off the season strong.
But it’s not about the first week of games, it’s about how you play throughout the season.
That’s where the Cubs have failed for fans and themselves.
They have shown no good consistency as a team.
However, Cubs fans can find some bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season.
The Cubs have three bright spots so far this 2022 baseball season.
3. At Least They Aren’t The Worst Team In Baseball
No one wants to be last in the league.
Luckily, the Cubs aren’t at the bottom.
However, they are flirting with finding themselves at the bottom.
The Cincinnati Reds currently own the worst record in baseball, but that could change soon.
The Reds are one of the hottest teams in baseball… and still have the worst record in baseball. That’ll happen when you lose 20 of 21.

The reason it could change is that they are winning games now and will face the Cubs soon.
Cincinnati not being last would change quickly if they sweep the Cubs.
However, they can enjoy this small win for now.
2. Cubs Have A Star In Seiya Suzuki
The Cubs were quick to sign Seiya Suzuki to a five-year deal.
As a former professional baseball player in Japan, Suzuki comes with experience.
He’s been said to be a favorite for Rookie of the Year with him playing in his first year in the MLB.
He started off hot in 2022, stringing together a nine game hitting streak.
The Cubs drop this one, 6-5, to the Rays with Seiya Suzuki standing in the on-deck circle. He reached base three times via walk, but his impressive, career-opening hitting streak ends at nine games.

However, he then hit a batting slump.
But he’s seemed to have gotten over his slump.
He holds a respectable batting average of around .250.
He’s also committed zero fielding errors, meaning he’s solid in right field.
These things are pleasant surprises for a Cubs team that needs something positive to look toward.
As he continues his journey in the MLB, he will continue to grow into a talented outfielder for Chicago.
1. Scott Effross And Rowan Wick Have Been Solid Bullpen Pitchers
Starting pitching has disappointed Cubs fans.
While ace Kyle Hendricks leads the team in strikeouts with 32, his 4.03 ERA that makes him first among Cubs starters is disappointing.
However, two players from the Cubs bullpen have impressed fans.
Those two pitchers are Scott Effross and Rowan Wick.
Effross has a 1.15 ERA for 2022 with 18 strikeouts in 15.2 innings pitched.
Wick is the second-best reliever in the Cubs bullpen with his four saves, 1.23 ERA, and 18 strikeouts in 14.2 innings pitched.
They are the biggest bright spot for Cubs fans in this 2022 season.
However, those fans never see enough of those players because of poor offensive and starting pitching play in games.
If players like Hendricks can lower their ERA in games, maybe the Cubs fans can see more of these great bullpen arms.
But until that happens, fans can only see these two players making minimal appearances during 2022.
However, they are still the best Chicago has and give hope for Cubs fans for when the team wins games.
That makes them the brightest spot for Chicago so far in 2022.
