In an age where honesty and integrity are rarely found, Brian Flores shows he has both traits.
While he’s locked in a racial discrimination case against the NFL, he’s also taken an important stand for them.
Despite alleging a biased hiring process for head coaches, he takes the integrity of the game seriously.
When offered the chance to get more money to throw games, Flores didn’t take the offer.
Instead of tanking while coaching the Miami Dolphins, he would win games in 2019.
However, those wins would put a target on his back, as they cost the team the first overall pick in 2020.
As we now know, his actions slowly led to his firing and the truth to come out about Miami.
Flores Exposed Tampering Violations Along With Other Misdeeds By Dolphins Ownership
When the Dolphins fired Flores, it opened a can of worms for the team, their top executives, and the NFL.
Obvious that the NFL wanted to punish the Dolphins but make sure the competitive interests/tanking were not the reasoning. Would open a new can of worms on validity of outcome of games in which their new gambling partners would not be happy with. @Josheenyoo @Sports247Guy https://t.co/yAXk0da9H2

He exposed all the dirty secrets of ownership, with them targeting Tom Brady and Sean Payton while they were still with their respective teams.
His claims of an offer by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross to tank is something the NFL doesn’t need in the public eye.
However, he had the courage to bring this before the NFL, and the public.
While some may claim his only reason for doing this is because of his firing, it doesn’t negate the fact that this happened.
But with the firing aside, the actions of Ross and his desire to throw games are a major concern.
It leads fans to distrust the outcomes of NFL games, as teams could lose on purpose to get a higher draft pick.
Is Tanking In The NFL A Remote Problem?
With the light on Miami for attempting to tank games, it also raises questions.
Is tanking merely a remote problem, or is it something much bigger than what Flores has exposed?
It might seem like teams are tanking for a higher draft pick.
They threw the final game of 2020 that blocked us from the playoffs.
Taking our WR in last years draft.
Tried to lure Adoree away from us in FA.
Now they may sign our best CB?

While some accuse the Philadelphia Eagles of throwing their last game of 2020, there are better examples.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were a team that fans believe lost games to get the best draft picks.
I mean look at Tampa bay until 2014 they tanked for years and finally got a group of young players and became competitive

However, there’s never been proof of these allegations of tanking with those teams.
But with the Dolphins, Flores gave the NFL the ammo they needed to go after the Dolphins.
This means there is a problem with some teams doing this.
While there are concerns, the NFL used Flores’ success in Miami to drop the charges of tanking against them.
Flores Is A Hero For Exposing The Dolphins
For NFL fans that value the integrity of NFL games, Flores is a hero.
He’s shed light on the dark underbelly of NFL teams desperate for the best college players.
Fans should appreciate him for the courage he’s shown while bring light to these things.
The NFL needs to show they are holding teams accountable when they are breaking the rules the league has in place.
If they aren’t, then NFL team owners will continue to break these rules with no remorse.
