Brian Burns is still not happy about Sunday’s game and it has nothing to do with his Carolina Panthers losing to the New England Patriots.
Well, it may a little bit but there is a larger point he is mad about.
That would be the dirty play that saw Mac Jones twist Burns’ ankle to get him to the ground in the midst of a fumble recovery situation.
Jones claims he was trying to make a tackle, however, it did look a bit like a WWE takedown.
Not to belabor the point, but you won't get a better look at the Mac Jones ankle twist than this one from NFL Films. You can clearly see the grab, the trip, and the roll. It's not great. pic.twitter.com/pBjUnqJ8Wc

Burns wants an apology, which is not coming, and offered up a strong message to his fellow defensive ends going up against Jones.
#Panthers pass-rusher Brian Burns says it would be nice if Mac Jones apologized for grabbing his ankle on Sunday, but he doesn’t expect it to happen. “I would just like to play them again. I wish all my fellow D-end brothers happy hunting.” pic.twitter.com/V3iQc8YBJY

“Happy hunting” is quite the strong statement as Burns wishes he just had another chance to play the Patriots this year.
The Aftermath
No penalty was called on the field and the reason this play went viral is because Burns was found after the play writhing in pain.
A quick look at the replay showed why.
Jones did try to explain that he thought Burns had the ball, but even if he did, this looks incredibly dirty.
If someone tackled a quarterback like this they would be flagged, ejected, and fined.
Jones could still face a fine and likely will before his next game against the Cleveland Browns.
As for that game, Burns sent a clear message to both Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney.
The former has 12 sacks on the season and the latter is at 3.5, so basic statistics says one of them should get some shots in on Jones this Sunday.
Browns fans are already hoping the two defensive ends get to the backfield and disrupt the rookie Jones all game.
Burns can also be counted among those rooting for that as he continues to nurse an ankle injury.
