Brett Baty‘s MLB career has begun in style.
Recently called up to the Major Leagues, he made his big-league debut last night, starting at third base for the New York Mets as they took on the Atlanta Braves in the third game of their four-game set.
Baty took a 1-0 pitch from Braves starter Jake Odorizzi and hit it over the wall in right field for his first Major League home run, which also happened to be his first Major League hit.
His family was in attendance and got to enjoy the moment where he made his mark on the game of baseball.
After the game, Baty went to see his family and soaked up the moment with those who came to support him.
More than an hour after the game, Brett Baty is still in uniform and out in front of the third base dugout with his family, friends and former coaches who attended.
