Last season, St. Louis Cardinals star Brendan Donovan was in the race for the National League Rookie of the Year Award.
That award was ultimately won by Michael Harris II, but Donovan finished third in the race.
This season, the Cardinals super utilityman has been performing quite well to follow up his strong rookie campaign.
On Saturday, he did a little bit of everything for the Cardinals as they pulled off an extra-inning victory over the Cleveland Guardians.
Donovan hit an early home run and later scored the winning run in the 10th inning as the Cardinals snuck past the Guardians with a 2-1 win.
On Twitter, OptaSTATS posted some important notes about Donovan’s night and how he made some history in the process.
Tonight Brendan Donovan of the @Cardinals:
-scored multiple runs
-scored all of his team's runs
-had all of his team's RBI
-had all of his team's XBH
-had all of his team's SBNo other MLB player has done all of that in a victory (since RBI became an official stat in 1920).

Donovan scored both Cardinals runs on Saturday.
His solo home run in the second inning gave them an early 1-0 lead.
That accounted for all the team’s RBI for the game.
The Guardians fought back to tie the game, but Donovan delivered with his baserunning in the 10th inning.
He stole third base and scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball, registering all the Cardinals’ stolen bases.
Donovan also had all of the team’s extra-base hits.
No player had previously done all of that in one game since RBI became an official stat back in 1920.
As a result, the Cardinals won the game and pulled to within four games of first place in the weak NL Central, as the Milwaukee Brewers lost another tough game against the San Francisco Giants.
