Ronald Acuna Jr. is back.
After suffering a torn ACL last July that knocked him out for nine months, Acuna is off the injured list and has been reinstated by the Atlanta Braves onto their active roster.
In a corresponding move, the Braves designated outfielder Alex Dickerson for assignment.
Before his season-ending injury, Acuna put up some solid numbers for the Braves in 2021.
The star outfielder hit .283 with 24 home runs and 52 RBIs in 297 at-bats.
He also had an impressive .990 OPS.
Now, Acuna is back and ready to help the Braves defend their title in 2022.
The Braves are 8-11 to start the season and sit 5.5 games back of the New York Mets for first place in the NL East.
The #Braves today returned OF Ronald Acuña Jr. from his rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list. To make room on the active roster, the club designated OF Alex Dickerson for assignment.

Welcome Back, Ronald!
This is a major boost for the Braves, who were forced to go without Acuna during their incredible run to the championship.
But Acuna is now back and healthy.
His rehab assignment was brief, but it was enough to convince the Braves that he was ready for some big-league action.
If the Braves can win a championship without him, then they are sure to do some more damage now that he’s back.
Their lineup, which already consists of Matt Olson, Austin Riley, Ozzie Albies, and Marcell Ozuna, finally gets its superstar back in Acuna and puts the team in position to compete for another championship.
Obviously, it’s been a tough start for Atlanta, but there’s no better time than the present to get Acuna back.
Now, the Braves are a serious threat to repeat as World Series champions and should not be overlooked now that Acuna has been reinstated from the injured list and is ready to help return the Braves to the Fall Classic.
